Alleging she was exposed to asbestos through her husband's work clothes, Ginger Hall has filed suit against 11 companies.
The suit was filed June 25 in Jefferson County District Court.
The companies named as defendants in the suit are: Chevron USA, Citgo, DuPont, ExxonMobil, Huntsman Petrochemical, Mobil Chemical, Mobil Oil, Oxy USA, Texaco, Union Oil and Unocal Corp.
According to the lawsuit, Hall was exposed to asbestos through her husband's employment at several area refineries.
Allegedly, the asbestos dust on his work clothes has caused her to suffer breathing difficulties and cancer.
The defendants are accused of failing to protect workers and their family members from inhalation of asbestos fibers.
On top of exemplary damages, the plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
