Orange resident Ometra Simpson is suing Port Arthur local Mary Zachary for allegedly causing an automobile collision.

The suit was filed June 25 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on July 18, 2010, Simpson was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by Zachary when the defendant ran off the road and through a barbwire fence, crashing the vehicle into some trees and brush.

Simpson was allegedly injured in the crash.

The suit accuses the defendant of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and maintain control of the vehicle.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages, plus all court costs.
