Area resident John Sikes has filed an application for temporary restraining order against Safety Star Industrial, seeking to preserve evidence related to an injury he suffered at the company's premises.
The petition was filed Aug. 2 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the petition, on July 19 Sikes, a Dynamic Power employee, was called out to perform work at Safety Star. While working, a mast on a forklift fell, trapping his left arm and causing a severe injury.
Sikes is asking the court to issue a temporary restraining order to prevent the company from altering or destroying any evidence related to the incident.
He will suffer irreparable harm unless Safety Star is restrained, the suit states.
Sikes is also seeking a temporary injunction upon hearing and to recover all court costs.
Beaumont attorneys Clay Dugas and Reginald Blakeley represent him.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
