A Louisiana man has filed suit against the drivers who he claims struck his vehicle, allegedly causing him to sustain severe neck and back injuries.
Roy Crutcher claims he was driving near the 2800 block of State Highway 73 on June 22, 2011, when defendant Abby Lyn Brightwell caused a collision. Defendant Taylor Stokey also struck Crutcher's vehicle, according to the complaint filed Aug. 13 in Jefferson County District Court.
In addition to his injuries, Crutcher lost earnings, incurred medical costs, experienced pain and suffering and endured mental anguish and physical impairment because of the collision, the suit states.
The defendants negligently failed to drive safely, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to control their speed and failed to keep a safe distance, the complaint says.
In his complaint, Crutcher is seeking compensatory, consequential and exemplary damages, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Kurt B. Arnold and M. Paul Skrabanek of Arnold and Itkin in Houston will be representing him.
The case has been assigned to Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court.
