Recent suits against insurance companies filed in Jefferson County Courts

A total of four new lawsuits against insurance companies over hurricane and windstorm damage claims have been filed in Jefferson County District Courts, Aug. 13-17, 2012.

The following complaints have been filed:

• Elois Alex of 6985 Reno Circle in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Alex will be represented by Mitchell A. Toups of Weller, Green, Toups and Terrell in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E192-876.

• Claude Brister of 1404 Ave. G in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for roof and water damages caused to his property after a severe windstorm struck on June 6, 2011. Brister will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd A. Worrich and Brennan Kucera of Speights and Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: B192-872.

• Dolores Chandler of Texas alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association purposefully denied many claims for damages caused when Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Chandler will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd A. Worrich and Shelly L. Enyart of Speights and Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: B192-891.

• Francisco Moreno of 3205 Woodlawn Drive in Groves alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for roof, wind, water and hail damages caused to his home after a severe lightening storm struck on Dec. 29, 2010. Moreno will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd A. Worrich and Shelly L. Enyart of Speights and Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: E192-873.
