Local woman sues La Marque residents over multi-vehicle wreck

Rearend

GALVESTON - Local resident Sharrise Walker Cotton claims La Marque local Dallas Ann Bleimeyer caused a multiple-vehicle accident between them in Texas City more than a year ago.

According to court papers filed Sept. 17 in the Galveston County Law at Law No. 3, the wreck in question occurred at Emerald Oaks Drive near Amburn Road on May 11, 2011.

Cotton says she was traveling westbound with a minor passenger in the front seat and legally stopped at the specified location when the defendant driver, who was traveling northbound, rear-ended a vehicle operated by one Priscilla Kirby.

Kirby, who is not a party in the case, was reportedly in the process of slowing down so she can make a right turn onto Emerald Oaks.

The original petition further shows the force of impact created by the defendant's vehicle caused Kirby to "forcibly" lose control and "violently" collide with the driver's side of the complainant's vehicle, stating the collision inflicted injuries to Cotton and her young passenger's necks, backs and general bodies.

Police cited the respondent for failing to control her speed.

Rudy Delmos Bleimeyer, also of La Marque, joins Dallas Ann Bleimeyer as a defendant since the vehicle which allegedly triggered the subject event belongs to him.

The child who accompanied Cotton is also a plaintiff.

A jury trial is requested.

Attorney Deborah E. Bryant with The Bryant Law Firm in Houston is representing the plaintiffs.

Galveston County Court at Law No. 3 Judge Christopher Dupuy is presiding over the case.
