A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims struck the vehicle in which her minor son was riding, causing him to incur medical costs.
Terri Jordan claims her son, Michael-Ryan Schexnayder, was riding in a vehicle on Dec. 10, 2010, when defendant Cynthia Renee Turner struck the automobile.
Because of the collision, Schexnayder incurred medical costs, experienced physical pain and suffering and endured physical impairment and mental anguish, according to the complaint filed Nov. 1 in Jefferson County District Court.
Jordan blames Turner for causing the collision, saying she negligently drove too fast, failed to exercise due care, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to maintain proper control of her vehicle, failed to swerve to avoid a collision and failed to timely apply her brakes, the suit states.
In her complaint, Jordan is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus pre- and post-judgment interest and other relief the court deems just.

The case has been assigned to Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court.
