A volunteer firefighter is suing Weinbrenner Shoe Co. Inc. for injuries he allegedly received because of a defective boot.
Timothy Rivette filed the suit on Dec. 20 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on March 13, 2011, Rivette was working as a volunteer with the LaBelle-Fannett Volunteer Fire Department.
The suit states he was wearing a pair of Thorogood “Hellfire” boots manufactured by Weinbrenner Shoe Co. while performing his duties, when an alleged boot defect caused a serious injury to his right foot.
The suit does not state what defect caused the injury or how the plaintiff was injured.
The suit only accuses Weinbrenner Shoe of negligently designing, manufacturing and selling a defective product.
The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus attorney’s fees.
Port Arthur attorney Brandon Monk represents him.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
