Beaumont man failed to make credit card payments

A credit collector has filed suit against the Beaumont resident who it claims failed to repay money borrowed on his credit card.

LVNV Funding alleges defendant Don Wayman utilized a credit card, but stopped making payments. In November, LVNV demanded full repayment of the money Wayman owes, but he has failed to repay the company, according to the complaint filed Jan. 25 in Jefferson County District Court.

“As of December 19, 2012, there continues to be owed by defendant to the plaintiff an unpaid balance of $7,217.35 and accrued interest of $4,172.22,” the suit states. “Interest continues to accrue to the account at the rate of 20% per annum.”

LVNV alleges breach of contract against Wayman.

In addition to the money it says it is owed, LVNV is seeking pre-judgment interest, attorney’s fees of $1,135, costs, post-judgment interest and other relief the court deems just.

Michael J. Scott, Teri Stewart Mace, Judith Morgan and T.L. Elder of Carrollton will be representing it.

The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
