GALVESTON - As court bailiffs in Galveston County kept a watchful eye on Bartholomew Granger, law enforcement officials in Jefferson County are looking for his brother.
Jury selection into Bartholomew Granger's capital murder trial continued April 8 while Jefferson County District Court Judge Layne Walker revoked Lyndon Granger's bond for failing to appear in court.
The Granger brothers face felony sexual charges.
Bartholomew Granger was on trial on March 14, 2012, when he allegedly shot one woman and injured three others at the Jefferson County Courthouse during a court recess.
He faces one count of murder, three counts of attempted capital murder, four counts of aggravated kidnapping and one count of aggravated assault.
His case was transferred to Galveston County because of the likelihood that jurors would have to walk through the crime scene at the Jefferson County Courthouse to get to the courtroom.
Jefferson County District Court Judge Bob Wortham commended the security of the Galveston County Justice Center, where the trial is now being held, stating the measures will “make every thing go so much easier and so much faster.”
A new batch of jurors was screened with the pool being cut from close to 200 to 113 as of the evening of April 2.
