Supervisor files disability lawsuit claiming he was fired after motorcycle accident

MARSHALL - A construction supervisor has filed a disability discrimination lawsuit against his former employer that claims he was fired after suffering injuries in a motorcycle accident.

Jon Andre Williams filed suit against Good Shepherd Medical Center and Good Shepherd Health System Inc. on April 10 in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.

Williams worked as a construction supervisor for at least 16 years for the defendants at various hospitals in Harrison County and elsewhere in East Texas. According to the lawsuit, Williams was involved in a motorcycle accident in February 2012 and was treated at defendant’s hospital in Longview.

Williams was fired on Nov. 8, 2012, by Good Shepherd Health System and allegedly told that he was eligible for rehire upon his “full recovery.”

The defendant is accused of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

The plaintiff is seeking an award of $300,000 in damages for back pay, pecuniary losses, emotional pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, non-pecuniary losses, punitive damages, attorney fees, court costs, and interest.

Williams is represented by Longview attorney Frank L. Supercinski. A jury trial is requested.
