Texas City residents claim John Moore installed detective HVAC system, seek damages

GALVESTON - Texas City residents Cye and Maurice Woods are suing John Moore Services Inc. over a reportedly poor installation job.

A lawsuit filed May 2 in Galveston County Court at Law No. 2 focuses on problems attributed to the defendant's work performed on, around or after Feb. 6, 2012.

John Moore installed an Amana HVAC system at the Moore residence after the complainants relied upon its purported professional expertise in the selection of and consummation of the system.

The Moores claim they discovered said problems on May 2, 2012; May 4, 2012; and Sept. 8, 2012.

Among the defects the plaintiffs found include unsealed roof penetration and the existence of the double wall vent pipe through the roof.

The suit also states that John Moore announced a 10 per cent senior discount in its phone book ad, but the business did not honor the deal to the complainants.

Consequently, the Moores seek unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

They are represented by attorney Robert D. Clements, Jr. of the Law Office of Robert D. Clements, Jr. & Associates in Houston.

Galveston County Court at Law No. 2 Judge Barbara Roberts is presiding over the case.
