SHERMAN - Three home health caregivers have filed a lawsuit claiming that they were not paid overtime wages.

Ekaette Clements, Regina Caesar, and Ngozi Ugwunze filed suit against AOC Senior Home Health Corp. and Bonnie West on May 31 in the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division.

The plaintiffs were employed as caregivers by the defendants and allegedly worked in excess of forty hours a week. The defendants are accused of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act by failing to pay the caregivers one and one-half times their regular rate of pay for each overtime hour worked.

The lawsuit is seeking an award of damages, liquidated damages, attorney’s fees, court costs, and interest.

The plaintiffs are represented by Charles L. Scalise of Ross Law Group in Austin. A jury trial is requested.
