Minor seeks reimbursement for injuries

By Kelly Holleran | Jun 10, 2013

A minor needs to be reimbursed for injuries he sustained during a collision in May of last year, according to recently filed court documents.

James Brown as next friend of Eric Brown filed a lawsuit May 30 in Jefferson County District Court against Eddie Kenebrew and Celeste Kenebrew.

In his complaint, James Brown claims his son, Eric Brown, was riding in a vehicle on May 28, 2012, when it was involved in an accident. During the collision, Eric Brown sustained injuries, according to the complaint.

Eric Brown deserves to be reimbursed for medical costs he incurred following the collision, the suit states.

In fact, others involved in the accident have already reached a settlement with the Kenebrews, the complaint says.

James Brown seeks an additional settlement for his son, plus other relief the court deems just.

Ryan Douglas White of Loncar and Associates in Beaumont will be representing him.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. D194-395
