HOUSTON - Complaining that she is the target of retaliation as an employee of Kroger Texas L.P., Harris County Dawn Marie Dahl seeks damages.
Dahl filed a lawsuit against her employer in Harris County District Court on May 31.
The Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas received the litigation on July 10.
Court papers allege that Kroger mistreated the plaintiff, who works as a customer service manager, because she reported a co-worker for sexual harassment.
Dahl recalls an incident in September 2012 at a Northwest Houston Kroger where she used to work in which said co-worker purportedly made "aggressive and unwanted sexual advances" toward her.
She subsequently reported the event in question to which Kroger said her only option was to transfer to another store.
The suit states the complainant objected to switching stores because the new one was far away from where she lived and her family owns only one vehicle.
Dahl eventually found herself at the recommended location where she supposedly underwent numerous disciplinary measures, which she believes were meted out as a result of her complaints.
According to the plaintiff, they caused her to suffer severe psychological and emotional trauma.
A jury trial is requested.
Attorney Joshua A. Verde of The Verde Law Firm PLLC in Houston is representing Dahl.
