Operations associate sues former employer for overtime wages

SHERMAN - A Collin County woman, who worked as an operations associate, has filed a lawsuit against her former employer claiming she was not paid overtime wages.

Timika Coleman filed suit against Forex Capital Markets on July 22 in the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division.

Coleman worked for the defendant from September 2008 through November 2011 as an operations associate. She claims that during her employment, she worked in excess of 40 hours per week but was not paid one and one-half times her regular rate of pay for each overtime hour worked.

The defendant is accused of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The plaintiff is seeking an award of damages for unpaid overtime pay, liquidated damages, attorney’s fees, court costs and interest.

Coleman is represented by Charles L. Scalise and Daniel B. Ross of Ross Law Group in Austin. A jury trial is requested.

U.S. District Judge Ron Clark is assigned to the case.
