A man has filed suit against the driver who he claims failed to keep a proper lookout and struck his vehicle.
Donnie Ray Hardin claims he was driving on Oct. 25, 2012, when defendant Jean Richards failed to yield the right-of-way and struck his vehicle.
Because of the collision, Hardin experienced physical pain and mental suffering, incurred medical costs, lost earnings and his earning capacity and suffered physical impairment, according to the complaint.
Hardin blames Richards for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to yield the right-of-way, lacked proper control and failed to timely apply her brakes.
In his complaint, Hardin is seeking a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Taylor W. Miller of Reaud, Morgan and Quinn in Beaumont will be representing him.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
