Man seeks TRO to stop city of Beaumont from demolishing property

Charles Crabbe has filed a petition for temporary restraining order and permanent injunction to stop the city of Beaumont from demolishing his property.

The petition was filed Aug. 30 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the petition, Crabbe is the owner of a residence at 707 Goliad St. in Beaumont.

The city has concluded the structure had not been repaired in accordance with city standards in the time allotted, slating the property for demolition, the suit states.

Crabbe says in his suit that the required repairs to the property cannot be completed before the property is demolished.

The plaintiff seeks a TRO to keep this from happening.

Beaumont attorney Eddie Schroeder represents him.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, is assigned to the case.
