Suit brought over man’s fall off scaffold

Alleging the scaffold he was working on wasn’t long enough, Iram Rosas has filed suit against CF Jordan Construction and Antonio Morales Masonry for injuries he received when he fell off the scaffold.

The suit was filed Aug. 30 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Sept. 10, 2011, Rosas was working for Morales. He was working on scaffolding on a project at the Event Centre in Beaumont when he fell 12 feet to the ground, breaking bones in his right arm.

The suit alleges that the scaffolding was not sufficient in length and CF Jordan, responsible for safety, failed to provide a safe workplace.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages.

Houston attorney Norman Straub of Mestemaker & Straub represents him.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
