HOUSTON - A Dayton woman took legal action against her former employer, claiming it subjected her to gender-related discrimination.
Delia Asson sued Cryogenic Vessel Alternatives INOX/CVA in Harris County District Court in late July.
Her lawsuit was transferred to the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas on Sept. 10.
Asson worked as a welder for the defendant from Feb. 25, 2011, to May 29, 2012.
She explains that her supervisors discriminated against her, and she reported their alleged misconduct to the company's human resources department.
According to the suit, the "unwelcomed" sexual language directed toward the plaintiff escalated unabated.
It adds the supposed stress from the job took an additional toll at home.
Asson's husband, who also works for the respondent, was made aware of "these pressures" at work.
"Ms. Asson and her husband tolerated significant hardship because they did not want to lose their jobs while being not primarily at fault," the suit says.
Though the claimant specifies the dates of when she worked for the company, it is unclear whether she resigned or was terminated.
A jury trial is requested.
