Seven Ford Nassen Attorneys Named 2013 Texas Super Lawyers

Utkov have been named 2013 Texas Super Lawyers, who are recognized as among the state’s leading attorneys.

George C. Baldwin works out of the firm’s Austin office. He focuses his practice on the resolution of commercial disputes through litigation, mediation or arbitration. He has extensive experience in cases involving scheduling problems, acceleration, delays, defective construction, and defective and ambiguous plans and specifications. Baldwin also serves as an arbitrator and mediator for the Washington, D.C., and Dallas offices of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
Jeffrey S. Chapman represents owners and contractors in disputes involving performance and payment, defect litigation, surety law and contract award controversies. In addition to dispute resolution, Chapman assists clients in preparing and negotiating contracts and other procurement documentation. He works out of the firm’s Austin office.
John W. Nassen is the firm’s managing shareholder and works out of the firm’s Dallas office. He focuses his national practice on a wide range of construction law issues. He has substantial experience in the development and negotiation of all types of contract documents, and is a litigator involved in all forms of dispute resolution. Nassen serves as a party-selected mediator and is named to the AAA's National Panel of Construction Arbitrators.
Jeffrey A. Ford represents contractors, developers, owners, specialty contractors and sureties in all facets of the construction process. He also serves as a mediator and arbitrator and is on the AAA’s Large Complex Construction Case Panel of Construction Arbitrators. Based in the firm’s Dallas office, Ford is an elec
ted Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers.
James L. Deem is based in the Dallas office. He helps clients prepare and negotiate well-balanced risk allocations in their contract agreements. He also assists clients in finding reasonable resolutions of project issues as well as resolving disputes through litigation, arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. His clients include owners, developers, commercial contractors and surety bonding companies.
Timothy D. Matheny works from the firm’s Dallas office. He handles construction disputes and litigation, including matters in all phases of public procurement law. His experience in government contract matters covers all levels of government in both formal and informal proceedings before administrative agencies and boards of contract appeals, and in litigation in state and federal courts.
Clayton C. Utkov represents contractors, subcontractors, owners, developers and suppliers in complex construction disputes involving design and construction defects, contract disputes, performance and payment disputes, delay claims, and bond and lien claims. Based in the firm’s Austin office, Utkov has experience resolving disputes for his clients through negotiations, mediation, arbitration and litigation.
