CACH sues Port Neches local to recover $17K credit card debt

CACH LLC has filed suit against Port Neches resident Ansuya Patel, claiming the defendant has defaulted on a credit account and now owes more than $17,000.

The suit was filed Oct. 28 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the suit, the defendant was advanced dollars on a credit card account.

Court records show that the defendant stopped making payments on the account. On July 9, the plaintiff sent a letter demanding payment, but despite the demand no payment has been made.

“As of August 22, 2013, there continues to be owed by defendant to the plaintiff an unpaid balance of … $17,398.99,” the suit states. “Interest continues to accrue to the account.”

The plaintiff seeks to recover the balance of the account, interest and court costs.

Carrollton attorney Michael Scott represents it.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
