SHERMAN - An East Texan has filed a lawsuit claiming an advertising company violated federal law by robo-calling his cellular telephone.

George Morris, individually and on behalf of all persons and entities similarly situated, filed suit against Plattform Advertising Inc. on Nov. 25 in the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division.

The defendant is accused of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by robo-calling Morris’ cell phone when he had not given his consent to receive calls from Plattform.  The plaintiff also states his cellular telephone number was listed on the national Do Not Call Registry.

Morris is bringing the lawsuit on behalf of a proposed nationwide class of other persons who received illegal telemarketing calls from or on behalf of the defendant.

The plaintiff is asking the court to restrain Plattform from engaging in future marketing violations and for an award of statutory damages.
