GALVESTON - A Harris County man brought a lawsuit against a Seabrook local for a two-vehicle accident which allegedly injured his young daughter.
Jerry Sinclair filed suit against Silvia Sinclair in Galveston County District Court on Dec. 20, nearly two years to the day of the subject event.
Court papers show that on Dec. 21, 2011, Silvia Sinclair was driving a vehicle through League City with the plaintiff's daughter as her passenger.
According to the original petition, the defendant approached the intersection of Interstate 45 and Farm-to-Market Road 646 without any control of her speed and "struck a vehicle in front of her at a high rate of speed."
The vehicle's airbags subsequently deployed, but the apparent impact injured her neck, back, head, back and arm.
Though the parties share the same surname, it is unclear how each individual is related to one another.
Silvia Sinclair is faulted for:
- Failing to drive with the precaution of the ordinary motorist;
- Failing to maintain a proper lookout;
- Failing to timely apply her brakes;
- Failing to pay attention to her surroundings; and
- Failing to keep a safe distance.
Consequently, Jerry Sinclair seeks unspecified monetary damages for his daughter.

The case has been assigned to Galveston County 122nd District Court Judge John Ellisor.
