La. woman sues Katy man for $195K over U.S. 290 wreck

HOUSTON - A Louisiana woman seeks $195,000 in damages from a Katy man following an apparent multi-vehicle accident between them, recent court documents say.

According to a lawsuit filed Jan. 6 in Houston federal court, Roy Donald Hubbard caused the subject wreck with Nille Platte, La., resident Jenna Young along U.S. 290 on Jan. 10, 2012.

The original petition alleges that Hubbard was speeding when he rear-ended Young's car, stating the impact sent the plaintiff into the vehicle in front of her.

It adds the claimant's vehicle was a total loss, and that she suffered two herniated discs for which she was subsequently taken to the hospital.

Young insists "she is likely to suffer back pain for the rest of her life."

A jury trial is requested.

Attorney David "Mac" McKeand of The McKeand Law Firm in Houston is representing the complainant.
