A group of attorneys is suing a company for breach of contract.
Berkeley Law and Technology Group LLP of Portland, Ore.; DurretteCrump PLC of Richmond, Va.; Richard L. Coffman PC of Beaumont, doing business as The Coffman Law Firm; and The Creekmore Law Firm PC of Blacksburg, Va.; filed a lawsuit Dec. 19 in the District Court of Jefferson County against Alvion Properties Inc., Shirley K. Medley and Harold M. Reynolds Sr., citing breach of contract, suit on a sworn account and quantum meruit.
According to the complaint, on Aug. 29, 2008, the plaintiffs and defendants entered into a contract in which the attorneys agreed to provide legal services to the defendants in exchange for fees and litigation expenses.
The plaintiffs state they have performed under the contract, but the defendant's have failed to and refused to pay the plaintiffs the correct fees and expenses. The plaintiffs state the defendant's balance is in the amount of $603,324.71.
The plaintiffs are seeking actual and consequential damages. They are being represented in the case by attorney Richard L. Coffman.
