Samantha Burrell filed suit in the Jefferson County District Court on Nov. 25, naming Remedial Construction Services as the sole defendant.

Burrell, of Port Neches, was formerly employed by Remedial, but is now suing the company for retaliatory discharge. Burrell claims she began working at Remedial in 2007. She says she typically worked 50 hours per week for Remedial, but would sometimes only work 40 if business was slow.

According to Burrell, in October 2012 one of her co-wokers, Juan Salinas who was on vacation at the time, came into her office allegedly to check on the status of an upcoming project. While in the office, Salinas allegedly made comments about Burrell's breasts and asked if he could touch them. The incident allegedly ended when another one of Burrell's co-workers entered the office.

Burrell says she reported the incident to her supervisor and requested it not happen again. Burrell now asserts she was mistreated after reporting the incident. Within one week of reporting the harassment, Burrell says she was told that she would only be able to work two to three hours a week and that Remedial may not need her anymore.

Burrell is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages. She is being represented by attorney Bruce Gregory.
