A woman is suing after sustaining injury while employed at Wal-Mart.

Aleda D. Anderson filed a lawsuit Jan. 31 in the U.S. Court for the Eastern District of Texas Marshall Division against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. 

According to the complaint, on May 11, Anderson was working as a night cashier at the Sulphur Springs Wal-Mart when she injured her shoulder reaching overhead to lift a plastic bin.

Anderson claims Wal-Mart dealt with the injury by assigning her an allegedly intellectually dishonest doctor who diagnosed her torn rotator cuff as unrelated to the incident.

According to the lawsuit, Anderson went to another doctor who ordered shoulder surgery which she is now recovering from on medical leave without pay.

Anderson is seeking more than $75,000 in damages.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Tom Carse of Carse Law Firm.

The case has been assigned to District Judge Rodney Gilstrap.
