Texas woman sues after sustaining injury in collision on Highway 347

A Jefferson County woman is suing over claims she was injured in a car collision on Highway 347.

Cynthia Hinds filed a lawsuit Feb. 27 in the Jefferson County District Court against Walter J. Crook Jr., Michael S. Pitre and Marian R. Prince, citing negligence and negligent entrustment.

According to the complaint, on June 29, 2012, Hinds was stopped in her vehicle waiting to turn at the intersection of Highway 347 and Saba Lane when a vehicle driven by Crook or Pitre rear-ended Hinds' car, causing injury to the plaintiff and causing her car to strike the vehicle in front of her. The vehicle Crook or Pitre was driving belonged to Prince. Crook and Pitre are accused of negligently failing to control the vehicle, and Prince is accused of negligently entrusting the vehicle.

Hinds is seeking damages within the jurisdictional limit of the court.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Joe Michael Dodson of Strong Pipkin Bissell & Ledyard LLP in Beaumont.
