A Jefferson County construction company is suing subcontractors, claiming breach of contract.
Ron Williams Construction Inc. filed a lawsuit Feb. 7 in the Jefferson County District Court against Transcanada Keystone Pipeline L.P., Sunoco Pipeline L.P. and Sunoco Partners Marketing and Terminals L.P., citing breach of contract and fraud.
The plaintiff alleges it entered into an agreement with the defendant to assist in the construction of the Nederland Delivery Station, which is part of the Keystone Pipeline project.
According to the suit the defendant excluded certain duties of the plaintiff from the contract, and there were various delays, resulting in the plaintiff incurring additional costs. Williams claims he tried to get payment for the additional work from the defendant, but they would not pay him the balance due.
The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $15 million, a foreclosure of mechanic's lien, attorney's fees and court costs.
He is being represented in the case by Jefferson County attorney James E. Wimberley, of McPherson, Hughes, Bradley, Wimberley, Steele and Chatelain.
