A business is seeking to enjoin a former employee from contacting current employees and interfering with its business relationships.

United States Precious Metals filed suit March 6 in the Jefferson County District Court. USPM is suing a former employee, Ashley Todd, for allegedly violating his non-compete agreement.

USPM, based in Beaumont, is a dealer in the precious metals industry buying and selling gold, silver, platinum and palladium coins and bars.

According to the suit, Beaumont resident Todd executed a non-compete agreement for the benefit of USPM while he was an employee there. USPM claims Todd has violated the agreement since leaving the company by contacting current USPM employees and working for a competitor company.

USPM wants a temporary restraining order to keep Todd from violating his non-compete agreement.

USPM is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.

It is being represented by Beaumont attorney John S. Morgan.
