Wal-Mart sued after customer falls

A Harris County resident is suing after slipping and falling while shopping.


Tanya Henderson filed a lawsuit March 14 in the Jefferson County Court against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., citing premises liability and negligence. 

The complaint states on Oct. 10, Henderson was shopping at the Wal-Mart at 4145 Dowlen Road in Beaumont when she slipped and fell on a substance on the floor. The plaintiff says the defendant's negligence caused her injuries.

The plaintiff is seeking damages more than $200,000, but not more than $1 million.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Kenneth R. Baird of The Baird Law Firm and Arshad A. Ramji of Ramji & Associates.
