A visitor to a festival is suing the festival and its partners after she tripped over an extension cord.
Fay Broussard filed a lawsuit March 14 in the Jefferson County District Court against the Texas Rice Festival Inc., TRF Association Inc. and Douget’s Rice Milling Co., citing negligence.
The lawsuit states Broussard was at the festival in Winnie on Oct. 6, 2012, when she tripped over an extension cord stretched across her path. Her fall caused serious and permanent injuries, the complaint states.
Broussard is seeking damages that cover past medical bills resulting from the fall, future medical bills, mental anguish, pain and suffering, physical impairment, pre and post judgment interest and any other damages that come in discovery.
