A Galveston County couple is suing over claims their insurance company failed to pay for damage after a hail storm.

David and Joan House filed a lawsuit March 21 in the Galveston County District Court against State Farm Lloyds, citing breach of contract, breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealing, late payment of claims and unfair settlement practices.

According to the complaint, on April 4, 2012, the Houses' property insured by State Farm was damaged in a wind and hail storm, including damage to the roof and fence. The plaintiffs say State Farm conducted an inadequate inspection of the damaged property and has failed to pay the full claim.

David and Joan House are seeking more than $100,000 in damages.

They are being represented in the case by attorney David Christoffel of Arguello, Hope & Associates PLLC.
