Man sued after driving trailer with unsecured steel beams

Broken leg xray

A Galveston County man is suing over claims he was injured when steel beams rolled off a trailer.

Robert Marsh filed a lawsuit May 30 in the Galveston County District Court against Daryl Marsh, citing negligence. The suit does not state if the plaintiff and defendant are related.

According to the complaint, on June 12, 2012, Robert Marsh was helping Daryl Marsh use tie-down straps to secure large steel beams to the bed of a trailer at Daryl's place of business on Highway 3 in League City.

However, Robert Marsh claims Daryl Marsh unexpectedly began to drive the truck pulling the trailer, causing the steel beams to roll off and crush the plaintiff's leg.

Robert Marsh is seeking more than $1 million in damages, loss of earning capacity and costs of court.

He is being represented in the case by attorneys Fred Willumsen and Donal McRoberts of Willumsen Law Firm P.C.
