Driver sued after collision on I-45 in Texas City

A Galveston County woman is suing over claims she was injured in a collision.

Megan Cantu filed a lawsuit June 13 in the Galveston County District Court against Katherine Delaup, citing negligence. 

According to the complaint, Cantu was driving northbound on Interstate 45 in Texas City on Aug. 6, 2012, when she reduced her speed to avoid debris in the roadway and her vehicle was rear-ended by Delaup's vehicle.

Delaup is accused of failing to control her speed and maintain a safe distance. Cantu is seeking damages and costs of litigation.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Lance Nolan Walters of Tracey Law Firm in Houston.
