A California company is suing over claims a Texas oil company has failed to pay for materials and services rendered.

Baker Hughes Oilfield Operations Inc. filed a lawsuit July 15 in the Jefferson County District Court against Mining Oil Inc., Mason Oil & Gas LLC and High Island Gas LLC, citing breach of contract.

According to the complaint, in November and December, Baker Hughes provided materials and services to Mining Oil in connection with the development of a mineral leasehold estate in state waters off the coast of Jefferson County.

Baker Hughes says the defendant company failed to pay the invoice and the plaintiff then claimed a lien against the estate. The defendants are accused of breach of contract and suit on sworn account.

Baker Hughes Oilfield Operations is seeking the more than $607,000 owed, plus attorney's fees.

It is being represented in the case by attorneys William R. Sudela, J. Daniel Long and Elizabeth A. Harris of Crady, Jewett & McCulley LLP in Houston.
