Car parts company claims repair shop failed to pay nearly $70K

Breach of contract

An equipment company claims a distributor failed to pay it nearly $70,000 for parts it delivered.

Car Parts and Equipment filed a lawsuit July 23 in the Galveston County Court of Law No. 3 against Suzette Daniel.

Car Parts alleges Daniel entered into an agreement with it on behalf of Hi Tech Collision in which she agreed the company would purchase various merchandise from Car Parts. Car Parts sold the parts to Hi Tech Collision on an open account, the suit states. The company accepted the merchandise and agreed to pay for it at a later date, according to the complaint.

The defendant discontinued payments in August 2013 leaving an unpaid balance due to the plaintiff of $69,220.91, the suit states.

In addition to the money it claims Daniel owes it, Car Parts seeks interest, attorney’s fees, costs and other relief the court deems just.

It is being represented by attorney Thomas W. McQuage of Galveston.
