A debt buyer is suing a Beaumont man who allegedly failed to pay $13,000 in credit card debt.
Cach LLC filed a complaint against Joseph L. Cascio on Aug. 22 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the complaint, FIA Card Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of America Corp., issued a credit card to Cascio, who allegedly agreed to repay all charges incurred plus interest.
In June 2011, the bank says the defendant "defaulted on the obligation to make monthly payments on the credit card account, and the card was subsequently canceled."
The credit card account was charged off to profit and loss by FIA Card Services and sold to Cach LLC with a balance of $13,166. Cach says Cascio has not made a payment on the account since it was purchased.
Cach accuses Cascio of breach of contract for allegedly failing to pay off the debt as agreed. The company is asking to be paid the balance due on the credit card account plus interest and court costs.
Attorneys Richard E. Clark, Fallon Hamilton and Shaun G. Brown represent Cach LLC.
