Man requests depositions before filing lawsuit

A man is asking the Jefferson County District Court to allow depositions to occur in case he decides to file a lawsuit against local company.

Jose Mendoza alleges he was working at Star S Ranch, doing business as Rebollar Concrete Construction Co., on Jan. 16 when he fell about 20 feet from a loft.

Because of his fall Mendoza was severely injured, according to the petition filed Aug. 28 in Jefferson County District Court.

Mendoza seeks depositions because he is not sure if a claim should be pursued or against whom a claim should be made, the suit states.

Mendoza seeks testimony from Star S Ranch, Rebollar Concrete Construction Co., Trans-Global Solutions, Kathy Crorey and Brad Harris regarding his scope of work, the location of the accident, other workers on the site, workers' compensation coverage and legal relationships regarding workers' compensation agreements.

Mendoza will be represented by B. Adam Terrell of Weller, Green, Toups and Terrell in Beaumont.
