A woman has filed suit against the driver whom she alleges failed to remain in her lane, causing a collision.
Shari Granger alleges she was driving east in the left lane of Avenue J in Galveston on Sept. 20, 2012, when defendant Nessie F. Ludlow, who was also driving east, suddenly drove into Granger's lane and struck her vehicle, according to a lawsuit filed in Galveston County District Court.
Because of the collision, Granger incurred medical costs, endured physical and mental pain and anguish and suffered physical impairment, according to the complaint. She also suffered disfigurement and lost wages, the suit states.
Ludlow negligently failed to use her turn signal to indicate her intent to switch lanes, failed to control her vehicle, failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to obey traffic signals and left her lane when it could not safely be done, the complaint says.
In her complaint, Granger seeks actual damages, plus pre- and post-judgment interest at the maximum rate allowed by law, costs and other relief the court deems just.
