The parent of a minor child who was allegedly injured in a collision blames a Toyota employee for causing the accident.
Nancy McNeil filed a lawsuit Sept. 19 in Galveston County District Court against Toyota Lift of Houston and Rene Flores.
In her complaint, McNeil alleges the child, a minor, was exiting a parking lot onto Friendswood Drive on July 21 when Flores, who was driving for Toyota Lift, struck the child's vehicle. Flores was issued a citation for an invalid driver's license, according to the complaint.
Because of the collision, the minor child, who is not named in the lawsuit, suffered physical pain and mental anguish and endured physical impairment, the suit states. The child also lost earnings, the complaint says.
McNeil blames Flores for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to control the speed of her vehicle, failed to timely apply her brakes, failed to turn to avoid a collision, drove too fast, drove with disregard for the safety of others and failed to comply with a traffic control device.
In her complaint, McNeil seeks a judgment within the jurisdictional limits of the court, plus pre-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Attorney Jeffrey N. Todd of The Law Firm of Alton C. Todd in Friendswood will represent McNeil.
