Woman seeks restraining order to prevent evidence tampering

By Emily Moore | Aug 6, 2015

A Jefferson County woman is filing a temporary restraining order to prevent a man from tampering with a vehicle involved in a car accident.

Carmen Friday filed the lawsuit July 20 in Jefferson County District Court against Marcus Jerome Straughter, seeking to prevent him access to a vehicle involved in a collision with her deceased son.

According to the complaint, the car is being stored in post-accident condition at Top Gun in Beaumont, and the restraining order asks that Straughter and his representatives not have access to the car until Friday and her representatives have a chance to inspect the vehicle. Friday also wants to collect her deceased sons belongings from the car, the suit says.

Friday is represented by attorney Annie McAdams of Houston.

Jefferson County District Court case number B197360.
