A Singapore-based corporation is suing an oil and gas offshore services company, alleging failure to pay for requested services.

Maritime Management Services Pte Ltd. filed a lawsuit July 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas against BMT Giant, S.A. de C.V., alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the defendant entered into an agreement with Maritime Management Services in January 2014 in which BMT Giant agreed it would pay Maritime for providing crewing services for the Crystal Ocean--a vessel owned and/or operated by BMT. The suit states that Maritime Management Services provided the requested crewing services from March through May 2014 and BMT never expressed any concern with regards to the services during that time.

Maritime Management Services submitted two invoices to BMT: one in the amount of $334,853.54 for its crewing services in March 2014 and the other in the amount of $24,569.67 for services in April and May of 2014. The civil action says that neither invoice has been paid, despite Maritime receiving multiple assurances from BMT management that payment would be made.

Maritime seeks the invoice payments mentioned above, plus interest, attorney fees and costs. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Lara Pringle of Jones Walker LLP in Houston.
