GALVESTON -- A Baytown woman is suing two companies, alleging workplace discrimination because she was pregnant.

Amber Foster filed a lawsuit Sept. 21 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against CCS Medical, Inc., and DEGC Enterprises (U.S.) Inc., alleging sex discrimination. 

According to the complaint, CCS Medical has a history of forcing out or terminating pregnant women. In Foster's case, the suit says, she was told she was terminated because her position had been dissolved. 

However, the lawsuit states, Foster's supervisor asked her to temporarily perform the duties of the regional sales manager, and she stayed. The next day, however, the plaintiff's doctor told her she couldn't fly from Jan. 18, 2013, until after the delivery. On Jan. 18, Foster says she was again terminated because, she was told, she couldn't fulfill the job requirement of having to fly. 

The plaintiff alleges sex discrimination, especially because she was subjected to different terms and conditions of employment.

Foster seeks reinstatement or back pay, commissions, bonuses, benefits and any other compensation, damages for the defendant's discrimination, attorney fees and court costs, as well as a trial by jury. She is represented by attorneys Nasim Ahmad and Delana Cline of Cline/Ahmad in , Houston.
