Woman says Beaumont school district did not compensate her for injuries

Wristinjury

A Beaumont woman is suing the local school district, alleging it should have compensated her for a wrist injury.

Cynthia Richardson filed a lawsuit Nov. 2 in Jefferson County District Court against the Beaumont Independent School District.

Richardson brings this petition to review the decision of the appeals panel of the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers' Compensation, which, on Sept. 18, gave its final decision that Richardson's compensable injury March 27, 2014, does not extend to and include left wrist de Quervain's disease.

Richardson seeks a judgment that sets aside that final decision, states her compensable injury does extend to and include left wrist de Quervain disease, and discharges her with cost. She is represented by attorney Joseph K. Plumbar of Houston.

Jefferson County District Court case number B-197775.
