Galborg alleges it was sold contaminated fuel

HOUSTON – A Singapore company is suing fuel providers over allegations it was sold fuel that was not up to specification.

Galborg Pte LTD filed a complaint on Feb. 19 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Kristensons-Petroleum Inc., Minerva Bunkers Pte LTD and Buffalo Marine Services Inc. and barge Buffalo 90, citing breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 8, 2015, it purchased bunker fuel from the defendants for its vessel Silverfjord. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the bunker fuel was allegedly contaminated with methacrylate polymer and damaged the vessel. The plaintiff alleges it incurred damages of $602,773.42.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for total damages acquired, pre-and post-judgment interest and fees. It is represented by William A. Durham in Houston.
