Motorist blames James Construction for crash

MARSHALL – A Mount Pleasant motorist is suing a construction company, alleging injuries he says he suffered during a crash.  

Steven Fields filed a lawsuit Feb. 11 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas Court against the James Construction Group LLC, alleging negligence. 

According to the complaint, on Oct. 7, 2014, Fields, a motorist, was involved in a crash with a pickup truck driven by Pasqual Paz Perez, an employee of James Construction, in the 2500 block of South Jefferson Street, Mount Pleasant. The suit says the crash was caused by Perez’s negligence who was driving at an excessive speed.

The lawsuit states the plaintiff suffered personal injuries.   

Fields seeks compensation for loss of wages, loss of wage earning capacity as well as compensation for pain and mental anguish and disfigurement.  He is represented by attorney Joe Worthington of Negem & Worthington in Tyler.
