Couple blames Wal-Mart for wife's injuries

BEAUMONT — A Jefferson County couple is suing Wal-Mart, alleging its negligence led to injuries for the wife. 

Donna Bryson and Donald E. Bryson filed a lawsuit March 18 in Jefferson County District Court against Wal-Mart Stores,Inc., John Doe 1 and John Doe 2, alleging negligence resulting in injury.

According to the complaint, on July 14, 2015, Donna Bryson was shopping at a Wal-Mart store in Port Arthur when she sustained multiple body injuries when a flatbed cart struck her causing her to fall. The plaintiffs allege the defendants handled the flatbed cart recklessly causing injuries to Bryson.

The plaintiffs allege loss of earnings, physical impairment and loss of consortium,  

The Brysons seek monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000, trial by jury, damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by attorney Robert A. Schwartz of Brent Coon & Associates in Houston.
