Texas worker blames cattle company for his injuries

Two car collision

GALVESTON  — A Texas motorist is suing a cattle company, alleging negligence caused his car crash.

Wilfredo Urbina, of Galveston County, filed a lawsuit March 24 in Galveston District Court against American International Texas Properties, Inc., a subsidiary of American International Industries Inc., Donald Jolly and Chad Gaston, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries when they permitted cattle to run at large.

According to the complaint, on June 4, 2015, Urbina was traveling west on FM 517 in Galveston County when he struck a cow, resulting in serious injuries to the plaintiff, that resulted in medical expenses and continued pain and suffering. Urbina alleges the defendants violated the Texas agriculture code by letting their cattle roam unattended on public roads, causing injuries to others.

Urbina seeks trial by jury, all damages entitled, plus interest at the legal rate, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Russell G. Burwell III of Burwell Nebout in Texas City.
